CORPORATE PSYCHOLOGY

Much of my work as a psychologist has involved working with organisations to support, educate and empower their staff, teams and senior leaders to overcome challenges, level up, and thrive at work. Unfortunately, sometimes the investment in staff development beyond training in 'hard skills' (technical skills) is seen as an optional-extra, and investing in 'soft skills' is the first thing to be dropped from consideration by management.

The development of interpersonal skills such as communication, self-awareness, building confidence and self-belief, emotional intelligence, nurturing talent, time management, flexibility, stress management and dealing with conflict (to name but a few) can seem trickier to quantify and assess than technical skills. 

Thankfully, many organisations have realised that investing in the development of their staff and leaders beyond the technical side of things is essential in fostering an engaged, productive, high-performing, connected and HAPPY workforce. 'Soft skills' are really 'human skills', and development of these skills is vital in building great teams, leaders and organisations.
